A Day in the Life with Horizon House Residents Danielle & Jack

When Danielle and Jack moved to Horizon House their energy was instantly infectious. Perhaps it’s because they spent their careers enriching minds as educators and leaders in their professions.

Active in mind and body, Danielle and Jack lead a vibrant life. Every day begins with physical exercise. Throughout the day, they explore, learn, and thrive inside Horizon House and out and about around Seattle.

Danielle and Jack, like so many Horizon House residents, are interested in connection and meaningful interactions. When they’re up to something fun, you’re invited to join!

Horizon House is Convenient for Urban Exploration

For Danielle and Jack, the day begins with movement. A one-hour exercise class in the gym gets them energized. Afterwards, they return to their apartment for an additional 30-minute workout and stretch. As coffee-loving Seattlites, the espresso machine they installed in their kitchen is a favorite amenity, and a big part of breakfast. Afterwards, they venture out for a late-morning walk. It’s a great time to take in views of Puget Sound and the light reflecting off the Seattle skyline.

Profoundly Curious & Always Learning

Danielle Takes Strumming Seriously

Danielle’s passion lies in art, music, culture, and design. She nurtures her love of music by leading the String Alongs, a ukulele group of 25 residents, in regular practice sessions for upcoming performances.

This year, Danielle organized a collaborative concert with the String Alongs and Seattle Girls’ School. Onsite music of all kinds is a powerful connector at Horizon House and hugely popular.
