Exercise + Movement Keeps Us Young

For older adults, exercise and movement are so important to maintain independence and good health. As a community of independent seniors, Horizon House is never short on activities to keep residents active in both mind and body. From our well-equipped gym to an extensive fitness class schedule, you’ll find a host of choices to keep you moving.

Open 24 hours every day, the Horizon House in-house gym is equipped with weight-training equipment, treadmills, and elliptical machines. If you need guidance on using the equipment, our wellness team members are happy to show you the ropes. They’ll even provide two to four weeks of personal fitness training with your very own plan.

Wellness staff are available at the gym Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

In addition to gym equipment, Horizon House residents can access a wide range of fitness and movement classes, including Zumba, tai chi, and yoga, taught by our in-house wellness team.

For low-impact exercise, there’s nothing better than a dip in the Horizon House saline pool. You can join an instructor-led water aerobics class or get in some laps on your own. When it’s time to relax, soothe your muscles in the peaceful spa.

Horizon House is committed to supporting successful aging and that means catching you before you fall! Our innovative BEAM Program integrates personal fitness, lifestyle considerations, and special training equipment—all geared to reduce your risk of falls. Best of all, as part of BEAM you’ll receive a personal assessment and tailored program to fit your needs.
