Creative Minds Are Active Here
A maker, a crafter, a writer. The inspiration to form, build, or express yourself is part of our lifestyle.
Horizon House is a community that values creativity. Residents evoke interest, share their work, and inspire others. From painting to quilting to woodworking, there is an artistic outlet for you.

Purpose-Driven Creativity
Residents and groups share creative passions and projects.
- Take a group art class or work on your own project in the art studio, complete with a printing press, library, display boards, and supplies.
- Knitting, quilting, and sewing groups craft and donate hand-crafted pieces to organizations that serve people in need.
- Through the Writer’s Read committee, resident authors, published and unpublished, share their work through formal presentations enjoyed by all.
- Woodworkers have a full woodshop at their disposal to repair household items or work on projects. There’s even a group that makes wooden toys for donation.

The Residents’ Council is happy to hear from you if you have a creative endeavor you would like to organize or pursue with others.

My apartment has a lovely kitchen, which is my favorite part. The kitchen extends into the dining room. I love to cook and have people over for different functions. But it also serves as a place where I can lay my art out on the big counter tops and work on pieces there if I’m not going down to the studio.
