Assisted Living at Horizon House

Life changes, and sometimes independence requires a little more support. At Horizon House, our Assisted Living care allows residents to continue their purposeful, engaged lives while receiving compassionate, personalized care. Located right in the main tower of our Seattle community on First Hill, Assisted Living residents stay connected to everything that makes Horizon House special, from its resident-led culture and arts to its committees, friendships and urban conveniences, and enjoy the support they need to thrive.

Choose from private studios or one-bedroom apartments in our main tower. Everything Horizon House offers, including dining, fitness, cultural programs, and social spaces, is just an elevator ride away.

Our Life Enrichment team learns your interests, routines, career history, and more. They even create custom programming—like the French Club started for a resident who lived in France. You stay in control of your choices and your days.

Onsite nursing support around the clock. Medication management, health monitoring, and physician coordination. Our nurse-managed care model gives families peace of mind and residents confidence that expert, compassionate help is always nearby.

Our care team helps with bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping, laundry, and personal care. You’ll always receive just the right amount of support, when you need it, without feeling watched over. Independence when you want it, assistance when you need it.

Assisted Living and Independent Living residents participate in the same 70+ resident-led programs. Family involvement is encouraged. Volunteers from Independent Living visit, because connection is essential to wellbeing and joy.

Beyond our core Assisted Living services, we partner with trusted providers to offer onsite access to:

  • Acupuncture
  • Hair and nail salon services
  • Massage therapy
  • Dental care
  • Mental health support
  • Podiatry
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Palliative care and hospice
What is the difference between Assisted Living and Independent Living at Horizon House?

Assisted Living provides additional personal care support, including help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and medication management. Residents in Assisted Living apartments benefit from 24/7 onsite nursing care and participate in committees and interest groups throughout the community, as long as they are willing and able.

Can Assisted Living residents participate in community events and programs?

Absolutely. Assisted Living residents have full access to Horizon House’s 70+ resident-led committees, arts and culture events, fitness programs, and social gatherings. Our Life Enrichment team works to ensure every resident can engage in committees and special interest groups that match their interests and abilities.

Is short-term or respite care available in Assisted Living?

Yes. We offer short-term respite stays for individuals recovering from surgery or illness, or for those whose caregivers need temporary relief. This allows you or your loved one to experience the support and community of Horizon House while recuperating in a safe, caring environment.

What kind of nursing support is available in Assisted Living?

Horizon House provides onsite nursing care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our nurse-managed care model includes medication management, health monitoring, coordination with physicians, and support for residents with chronic conditions. This level of care is uncommon in many senior living communities and offers families significant peace of mind.
