Where Residents and Staff Create True Community
At Horizon House, residents know that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. If you’re looking for a career where you’re valued, not just as an employee but as part of the community, you’re in the right place.
What Makes Working Here Different
Residents Who Care
Employees are part of the family here—and you’ll feel it from day one. Residents want to know about your life, your family, and your goals. Every December, they organize their own staff appreciation campaign—raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to thank the people who make Horizon House home. That level of respect and generosity is rare in senior living.
Stability You Can Count On
Many of our staff have worked here for years, some for decades. That consistency matters—to residents, to your coworkers, and to your own career growth. When you join Horizon House, you’re joining a team that stays.
A Mission That Matters
We’re a nonprofit Life Plan Community in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood. There’s no corporate headquarters making decisions from another state. We’re local, independent, and focused on one thing: creating a community where older adults thrive on their own terms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What benefits am I eligible for as a new hire?
Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package beginning the first of the month following 30 days from their date of hire. This includes medical, dental, vision and a variety of additional benefit options designed to support your well-being and financial security. Many other benefits begin on day one, including paid time off accruals, retirement contributions, and additional programs that support you from the start.
Part-time and on-call employees are also eligible for select benefits and perks, such as retirement plans, though eligibility for benefits vary based on regularly scheduled hours. Human Resources will review the details of benefit eligibility during the offer process.
Does Horizon House support professional development?
Absolutely. Beyond $8,000 in annual tuition reimbursement (for you and your dependents), we offer company-paid training and support for continuing education relevant to your role. We invest in your growth.
What makes the culture here different?
The relationship between staff and residents. Residents don’t see you as “the help”—they see you as neighbors, as family. That respect shows up in everything. It’s a culture of mutual care that you won’t find at most senior living communities.
