Sara’s Snippets – April 2019

Each month, CEO Sara McVey shares snippets of her life inside and outside of Horizon House. Here are her updates from April 2019.

College Graduation

My stepdaughter Madison (pictured left) is getting ready to graduate from Colorado University and I wanted to be among the first to kick-off the celebration of this accomplishment. During the weekend of April 5, I was able to pay a visit to Boulder and spend time with these two beauties (Madison is 22 and Claire is 20). The weather was perfect, and we had a wonderful time just being together. Horizon House Residents provided some wonderful words of wisdom for Madison to consider as she takes this next big step in life. The actual graduation is May 9, and Madison’s Mom and Dad will be there to celebrate the big day.

Celebrating Fifty One-derful

On April 2, I turned 50-one-der-ful (51) years bold and am enjoying a month full of friends, surprises, and experiences. Jackie, who used to work at Horizon House, planned a day trip to Snoqualmie Falls. The weather was perfect, and the spa was an added treat.
